Breakfast on Bridge

7,500 people enjoy "Breakfast on Bridge" for 2022 WC in Sydney



Giant soccer balls promoting Australia's bid to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup join 7,500 Sydneysiders for the annual 'Breakfast On The Bridge' event on a turf covered Sydney Harbour Bridge on October 10, 2010. Over 11,000 square metres of instant Kikuyu turf, grown specifically for the event, were laid on Sydneys beloved 'Coathanger' to create a huge picnic ground suspended 50 metres above the harbour.

More than 7,500 people gathered together to have breakfast on the main deck of the Sydney Harbour bridge. According to local media, Australia's national soccer team, the "Socceroos" agreed to attend this event to help increase Australia's chances of hosting the 2022 World Cup.
